31 Tips for Effective Learning in 2024

As we know that it has never been a same strategic approach for each and every one but there are few methods which can help you improve your recall and long-term memories. The pointers I would be telling you are something you already know but you have to adhere to follow them at any cost to see the change.

As we know it takes only 21 days to bring something as a habit, so try what I say for next 21 days and you will feel the change I promise. Remember, everyone is different. Techniques works different .If something is working for one, it’s not necessary that it will work for each and everybody.

So just keep trying until you find out the way to study for yourself.

  1. GET YOURSELF ORGANISED FIRST

Every change begins from us. The time taken in getting yourself organised will set you up well and will definitely help you achieve your learning goals.

Few important tips for studding will be :-

a. Keep a record of your doings each day. You may record this in a diary or your smart devices.

b. Study at your own pace that works best for you. Don’t rush; let the material sink in.

2. FIND YOUR “WHY”.

Finding your why for giving 3 hrs or 2 hrs or 6 hrs of study is very essential. The things you want willingly learn should be already on your fingers so that you are focused on what you want in those 6 hrs. Silence your tech and smartphones while studying.

3. SMART DEVICES DOESN’T MAKE YOUR BRAIN SMART

If you want have effective study you need to have control over your conscious as well as non-conscious mind, which is only possible if you remove all distracting things around and we know when we talk about distractions our smart devices are first in the race. Make them silent or put them on charge or there is a smart way which will make you feel productive although if phone is ON , I will be sharing it in the end of this post.

4. STAY HYDRATED AND EAT BRAIN-BOOSTING FOODS

We don’t realise but food plays an important role in our daily routine. If you drink chemicals such as Alcohol, you will feel Alcohol intoxication, if you eat healthy food, you will become healthy. These foods have serious impact on our brain and too so choosing brain- boosting foods such as

v Coffee. …

v Blueberries. …

v Turmeric. …

v Broccoli. …

v Pumpkin seeds. …

v Dark chocolate. …

v Nuts.

And food item made by these ingredients are better to have.

5. TEACH SOMEONE ELSE

This could be the best practice to enhance your skills and knowledge by sharing to others. This clarifies your flow of learning, your learning skills, your understanding etc. This is tested and a successful method of keeping things in mind for long.

6. Get Active: Instead of passively reading, try summarizing, teaching, or discussing the material. It’s like giving your brain a little workout!

7. Break It Down: Those big, scary topics? Slice ’em up! Divide complex subjects into smaller, more manageable chunks.

9. Get Creative: Mnemonics, mind maps, and doodles — use ‘em! Visual aids make learning stick.

10. Repeat, Repeat, Repeat: Review regularly. Spaced repetition keeps info from slipping away.

11. Stay Hydrated, Brainiac: Proper nutrition matters. Feed that brain with brain-boosting foods.

12. Pomodoro Power: Study in short bursts (like 25 minutes) with breaks. It’s like interval training for your brain.

13. Curiosity Is Key: Ask questions, explore beyond textbooks. Be the Sherlock of your subject.

14. Team Up: Study groups rock! Different perspectives, shared knowledge — it’s like a brain party.

15. Sensory Overload (in a Good Way): Combine visuals, sounds, and movement. Multisensory learning FTW!

16. Chill Out: Mindfulness and stress management — because anxiety isn’t a great study buddy.
